An International Short Film Festival
e-BIOSCOPE – An international online Short Film Festival, is a competitive online web-cast Festival of short films made in Bangla and English. Its aim is to contribute to the development and promotion of artistic short films in Bengal. It targets to reach among 5.5 million Bangla speaking Diaspora spread all over world, and connected through the online digital medium
This festival is presented by Priya Entertainments Pvt. Ltd., and BongFlix. The official digital platform for the exhibition of films is BongFlix from online exhibitions will then be exhibited at “Bioscope – Axis Mall”, NewTown Kolkata, India. All email communications for the festival to be routed to email@example.com.
The online festival will exhibit the films in competition for 60 days, and encourage more viewer for each short film selected. Online audience will be an important yardstick, besides the jury, for selection of the 20 best short films. These 20 best shortlisted from online exhibitions will then have theatrical exhibition at “Bioscope – Axis Mall”, NewTown Kolkata, and Priya Cinema, Kolkata, India
The Festival program involves:
1. An international competition of short films (maximum 39 minutes in length)
2. A non-competitive section of informative films, retrospectives, homage profiles and other documentaries.(maximum 49 minutes in length)
Only works produced From January 1, 2015 can be included in the competition. The films in competition should be presented as online Premieres.
The selection of films at each phase is carried out by a jury of experts functioning as an advisory body to the Project organiser. The commission, under the direction of the Program Director, determines the program schedule and sets the screening order for all films in the official online channel bongflix.com, and later the selected films for the theatrical exhibition at Bioscope Asix Mall and Priya Cinema. All films is selected for viewing at each phase, the Festival office will contact the entrant by phone or email, as mentioned in the their entry forms.
No film selected may be withdrawn from the Festival program after being officially confirmed and digitally broadcast over the official online channel.
Applicants are required to send their films on DVDs or as online screens, or they can create dropbox account which to be shared with festival key person of the committee or technical team of festival committee who will download from the respective persons dropbox & go for next course of action. With the following information: (1) title of the film and director´s name, (2) country of the origin and year of production, (3) length of the film. DVDs for online upload should clearly indicate name of the sender, address, phone/fax number and e-mail address on the DVD.
English subtitle to films are welcome, to reach a wider audience.

The DVDs should be sent:
– by mail (indicated “no commercial value – cultural use only“)
– by courier service (with declared value of less than 15 EUR or 15 USD or INR 1000)

Deadline for film submission is 16th Dec, 2016
By Sending the Film on DVD, the film would be signed up for the competition. Merely filling the entry form does not entitle official choice for the competition. All received tapes and DVDs will remain in the festival archive.
For each selected film, whether competitive or not, the Festival must receive a detailed documentation by the deadline, including: a synopsis of the film, 2 stills of the film, 2 digital posters of the dimensions of 680 px x 328 px and 320 px x 180 px, 60 seconds trailor a biography and filmography of the director, an original dialogue list and its translation into English, and DVD of the film in .mpeg4 format for digital upload.
The Eminent Panel of Jury will be comprised of prominent representatives of culture, film production, theory, criticism, as well as filmmakers and producers. The Jury Members must not have participated in the making of any film in the competition. All Jury Members are sworn to secrecy. The Program Director of the Festival or his representative may attend the Jury deliberations, but may take no part in the voting.
The Jury will award the following awards in the short films competition:
Grand Prix plus Rs. 25000/- awarded to the best short film.
Award-winners are expected to attend the closing ceremony and to mention the award as announced, nationally as well as internationally, in their publicity and promotional materials.
The Management of the eBIOSCOPE: An international online Bengali and English Short Film Festival; makes decisions in case of unclear situations or cases unforeseen in these Regulations in conformity with the international regulations.
Participation in the Festival implies agreement with the Regulations set out herein.
